Coat - Topshop
Tee - River Island
Skirt - Miss Selfridge
Shoes - Primark

As the winter chills are coming, it's time to dig out the faux fur.

This is one of my ultimate favourite coats, which I got last year in the Topshop sale. It's so easy to wear with anything, it makes any outfit go from casual to glam. It is faux leather on the inside, therefore keeps you super warm. I love the longer length coats, they are definitely in this season.

A simple casual tee is so me, they are so easy to style. I decided to dress this one up with my faux leather style midi skirt from miss selfridge. It is an outfit perfect for a day at uni paired with a leather jacket and trainers, or with boots and a longline jacket as photographed for drinks with the girls.

Jacket - Offdutee
Top - Rock on Ruby
Trousers - Select
Shoes - Topshop
Necklace - Primark

I am in love with this outfit, it was such a lucky find as the jacket and the trousers are not from the same place.

I bought the jacket from Offdutee in Topshop and recently found the trousers in Select a couple of weeks ago, and I just had to pick them up. I knew I had seen the print before and I just hoped it matched with my jacket. I have wanted a co-ord for so long but could never find one I fell in love with. So you can all imagine how excited I was when this outfit came together.

Now for the most exciting part of this outfit, the t-shirt. It is from my new guilty pleasure online shop 'Rock on Ruby' http://www.girlynightsout.com I was able to create my own slogan t-shirt, which can I just add took me weeks to think of. So get thinking now because the lovely girls at rock on ruby gave me a code to share with you all to get 10% off your order.
Just add 'ALIFESTYLEAVENUE10' to receive the discount.
You can create your very own slogan top and bag or purchase other bloggers famous slogans.

This is definitely a key outfit in my autumn/winter wardrobe and a perfect smart casual outfit for university.

Freezing in a Fedora.

Fedora Hat - Topshop
Dress - River Island
Jacket - Select
Boots - Primark

I bought this jacket the other day, it is the perfect jacket for this in-between weather from autumn to winter. It's the perfect length, with the material being thinner it is perfect to layer up on the chillier days in autumn. It has the most gorgeous waterfall front which flatters almost everyones body shape.

I paired the jacket with this simple black dress, I love the style of this dress. It is so loose and floaty that you can literally just chuck it on with a jacket and your ready in seconds. It can be worn with almost anything too, which is always good to have options.

Then my good ol' Primark boots, I have had these for years. I just can't bare to throw them away. They just glam up any outfit, and are so easily worn. I have to admit after a standing on your feet drinking cocktails for hours they aren't the comfiest shoe. But hey, they do say beauty is pain.

With the weather in England getting more and more windy everyday it is such a struggle to wear this hat, which is upsets me to say. BUT, Miss Selfridge have come to the rescue and bought out a fedora hat which has a string tie around the head to pull tight making it not possible to fly off your head in the wind, heaven.

Skirt - Topshop
Top - Topshop
Jacket - Tesco
Bag - Topshop
Shoes - Converse
Watch - Michael Kors
Bracelet - Links of London

Firstly I want to apologise for the poor quality of these photographs, my sister and I took a trip to Hayling Island, and my camera battery died, so my iphone had to do.

I was shopping the other day in London on Oxford street, so of course it was a must to go into Topshop, where I fell in love with this mesh skirt. I love that is has longer mesh than the underskirt, you can fully appreciate the mesh detail and the edgy look it gives to any outfit.

I paired it with a simple white crop tee, to go along with the sporty look. I'm also wearing my trusty high top Converse's, I think this is a perfect look for during the day, but the skirt can also be dressed up for an evening look.

My leather jacket is actually about two years old, but it was a must for my outfit especially as the very cold and windy beach. I have recently updated my leather jacket for this winter which I'm sure will be featured on my blog soon, so keep a look out.

Slogans & Lace.

Top - New Look
Skirt - Miss Selfridge
Shoes - New Look
Watch - Michael Kors

This outfit is totally out of my comfort zone, but here's to trying new things eyy?

I saw this skirt and just had to buy it, even though I have nowhere to wear it. I love the two sections of lace it really makes the skirt different to any others and adds so much detail to a simple outfit. I decided to pair it with my trusty slogan tee. I live in this t-shirt, it is only a casual tee from new look but it is such a nice fit. I'm also a sucker for the slogan, (hopeless romantic over here).
The top makes the skirt look more of a daytime outfit, perfect for a lunch date with the girls.

Friday Favourites, Mac Lipsticks.

Friday, September 12, 2014

Mac has been one of my favourite make-up brands, for as long as I can remember.

Picking my top favourites out of my collection was a massive struggle for me, so I started with which ones I wear the most and broke it down it different seasons so there is a massive variety in colours.

Left-Right
Modesty  ●  All Fired Up  ●  Media  ●  Vegas Volt  ●  Amorous  ●  Hot Tahiti

Modesty
This is one of my favourite nudes of all times, I always go through the struggle of finding the perfect day to day nude. It is impossible to find one I love just as much as modesty. It is a peachy toned nude so compliments many skin tones, it is highly pigmented too which is something I always look for in a nude colour. I definitely recommend this nude if you are on the search for one.

All Fired Up
A very bold and out of my comfort zone decision to purchase this one, I'm not a huge lover of pink on my lips however I was on holiday in Tenerife in August, and this colour did not leave my lips. It is a matte colour which is my favourite finish, so colour didn't look to in your face. It is such a rich fuchsia when I say rich I mean deep pink when applied.

Media
Media definitely has to be my go to autumn winter colour, it just really compliments my pale skin in the colder seasons. It is a really deep red, kind of a red wine colour (just you can't get drunk on lipstick). I have to admit I thought it was going to be a lot darker, but once on it soaks into your lips and becomes a gorgeous dark red.

Vegas Volt
Another perfect summer shade, orange. Last summer I tried many orange shades from various brands and this was the one that stuck with me. It looked slightly daunting to me on the shelf but my hand kept reaching out to the shade. The best purchase ever, it is fabulous on.. not too much orange at all. It really is like a pale orange and raspberry colour mixed together.

Amorous
I find myself also reaching for this colour in autumn, as it is a lovely rich but pale purple, (I know, awful description) but it honestly is. The purple tones really come through when applied but it is a lovely pale shade. It is a perfect alternative for autumn winter if you are not bold enough to go with Media. It is also a colour which can take you through day and evening.

Hot Tahiti
This is a lipstick which needs a lot more recognition for being amazing. I am a girl who lives in fear of bright red lipstick as I just don't think they suit me, so I always look for different shades of red. As Hot Tahiti is a glaze finish it really makes a difference leaving the red really toned down and glossy. It really compliments the red shade of natural lips and gives them that little bit extra for winter.

I hope you enjoyed my favourite 6 mac lipsticks, I just wanted to share with you some of my favourite shades and help you a little in finding the perfect shade for you.

If you love finding out about new products or reading reviews on trust worthy products, then head over to my best friend Beccas beauty blog, be sure to follow her to & show her some love. If you're students like us then you will adore the make-up bargains she comes across. I for one am a complete lover of her blog, not because I'm bias but because I adore beauty as much as her and she's always making me want to purchase everything she blogs about, which is a good thing (I guess).

Monochrome monday.

Monday, September 08, 2014

Technically the post title lies.. in my world it's monochrome all day everyday.

but for now, it is monday and yet again I am wearing monochrome (shock)

Top- Topshop
Jumper- Topshop
Trousers- Topshop
Shoes- Primark
Bag- Miss Selfridge

I am a huge fan of the fluffy jumpers which were a huge fashion piece last year AW, here I am wishing the love carries on into this year as well. I already have my eyes on the co-ord from miss guided, go check it out if you love these jumpers. http://www.missguided.co.uk
These trousers for me are a massive 'not to sure' I love print trousers but I never have the body to pull them off. As I am curvy they make my legs look ginormous. However these Topshop monochrome print  trousers have officially changed my mind, they are such a nice fit as they feel like a legging material but more structured and thick (perfect for autumn chills).
My love for this bag in unbelievable, as I was totally gutted I missed out on the Zara clutch similar to this, I made sure I purchased this Tres Chic clutch from Miss Selfridge straight away.
